Oversea Mission

We actively support different mission partners, particularly from the Church Mission Society.

  • Over the past three years we have supported Simon and Sarah Cawdell who were involved in theological teaching and local development in Uganda. However, their term of service has now ended, and they have returned to the UK, and we are now working with the Church Mission Society to identify replacements.
  • Through contacts in Uganda the St Michael’s NIV lectern bible, was given to the Archbishop Janani Luwum Theological College in Gulu Uganda
  • We have also focused on the Bible Society and held at least one Bible Sunday a year.
  • We donate 10% of parish income to a range of charities, normally suggested each year by a PCC sub-group.
  • Large Tamil and Fijian Christian groups use St Andrew’s each month for fellowship meetings and outreach. Their members sometimes take part in our services.
  • A group of Ukrainian Christians has started to join together in St Andrew’s to pray for peace.
